I'm trying to replace internal links from a Notebook on Onedrive.

It's not working so far. It says it can't find the link.

I'm using 2016, and tried the version from windows and cant find any setting to "Go to Settings > Show Page XML" to be able to edit the links to a format it understands...

Any chance the macro can be modified to accept internal links without needed to edit links?..

I tried running this macro but I keep getting the error: "Macro failed with this error: Cannot continue this operation as there is content on this page from a future version of OneNote". Is there anyway around this as I have heaps of hyperlinks I need to update in this notebook. Any help appreciated :-)

it's interesting but it doesn't work me on a one note 365 16.0, maybe because there are blank spaces? I have tried to edit links which goes to the same page.

Can you also replace links to pages within OneNote?

Note to those with problems linking to folders/files: see posts below about changing the slash to a forward slash in the link.  This worked for me.

Hi Omer. Does it work with hyperlinks to computer file/folder? I don't manage to change my new drive letter for my more than fifty hyperlinks!

The macro is replacing Web URL's not the Local URL's to files or explorer link to SharePoint.

RGreen: It is likely that the local URL is internally stored with a forward slash. Go to Settings > Show Page XML to see how it is internally stored and use that format to search and replace. See older comments below too.

I'd highly appreciate that the macro support forward slashes (for web URLs) as well as backslashes (for local files), since both are hyperlinks. Currently, only web URLs are supported.

JR: You may have to use a forward slash instead of a backward one. Check Settings>Show Page Xml to see how OneNote internally stores them.

I thought this macro would be the answer to my prayers but I can't get it to work. I have a table with hyperlinks to files on my hard drive. I changed the folder structure on my hard drive and now all the links are broken. So, I try to use the macro and copypaste the old path from the hyperlink the the "Find part of hyperlink" field and enter the current directory to the "replace with" field. As a result I get error message "No instances of "\FOLDER1\FOLDER2\" is found" even though I copied the path directly from a hyperlink so it surely exists on the page.

Very useful, thanks! Would appreciate if we could have an option to decide if the search should be case sensitive or not. Currently, your search is case sensitive only!

This works perfectly, saved me about 2 weeks of copy and pasting the links to our new server.  If you're currently looking for a find and replace hyperlink solution this is it.

This is amazing! Nearly four years I was chained to the hard drive with many video files that were linked to images in my notebook. Finally I can move them to another place. Omer, thank you very much to fix this for me.

This is the tool I was looking for. It works fine but not with links from images. I have many screenshots linked to video files on my hard drive. I want to move the videos. Can this be implemented in the macro?

Many thanks - that sorted my problem. The backslashes get changed to forward slashes in the XML - searching for P:/ works fine. Odd...

mark: check the page XML using Settings > Show Page XML  to see how those hyperlinks are stored in OneNote. For instance spaces might be encoded as %20

I can't get the find function to work for hyperlink backslashes e.g. I get "not found" if I search for P:\\, or if I search for a hyperlink with a space in it. Any idea what's happening here? Are there some special characters that don't show up, or something like that?

Josh: To install macros offline, first install it on a machine with internet connection, then export the macro and save as a text file, then import it on the offline machine. Use Edit Macros and New Macro buttons to export and import respectively.

I am trying to use this in an offline environment. When I try to install it by double-clicking, it prompts that this macro will be installed, I choose OK to continue, but I receive error "The system cannot locate the resource specified." I am assuming this because I do not have an internet connection? If so can you provide me with an offline installer?

I wish I could also search for hyperlinks instead of replacing. Would be even better if you could find broken hyperlinks.

- Allow selecting on the page (and opening Hyperlink dialog) when Search and Replace Dialogue is open
