Drat...was hoping this would solve the problem I have that pasting into OneNote removes all the heading & tagging info from Word. It does...except I can't use any of my custom tags.

I thought maybe I could put <extremism> <IR> <TG> <Heading><?><ResearchIdea> etc. at the end of my Word outlines and then use your program to automatically tag those lines with the tags I use to create my Notebook index of topics & my TOC (TOC=Tag Summary for Specific Tag) .

Love this idea! Can hardly wait to have time to try it!

James Bayley: Yes, this will put a tag on any paragraph that contains the text, regardless of where it is on the page.

This worked well for me when tested with a Scope = current page

An unexpected behaviour was that it put a tag in the page title. This is legal but perhaps undesirable.

Ali: Macros currently cannot remove tags. But yes I agree being able to do so is valuable. This might be in a future update.

Thanks for this macro tool.  The Tags Summary (from Find Tags button) page shows the search results and allows for quick navigation.
To remove all tagged items: (1) add the Remove Tag command to the Ribbon; (2) select the entire page contents and click the Remove Tag button.  It would be nice to have a macro that removes all tags of a specific type.  Thanks again.

Thorrrr: OneNote doesn't allow add-ins to get information about the custom tags the user has created. Therefore it is not possible to display them here. You can edit the macro to add your custom tags if you want. You can do so by going to Edit Macros > Search & Select and then click on one of the item in the list of tags and modify it with your custom tag's name and symbol. Great idea but if it is not pulling custom tags that a user creates what is the point? Or am i missing something most power users or tag users will create their own just displaying generic ones is pointless IMHO
