Add a popup box that asks for a column delimiter. Put each bit of text in a separate column. So for example if there's raw data that looks like:

Alpha: $10m
Beta: $12m
Gamma: $5m

The user would select a colon as the delimiter, and that would create a 2-column, 3-row table. Thank you.

I have one problem with this macro -- it modifies the entire page. For me that's a problem because I often have multiple people editing sections of the page. OneNote marks those sections with their initials.

When I run this macro, I then "own" all of the page; the information for other users editing page sections is lost.

Later. I started testing with some other text and it works. So I think the problem is that there is some formatting in my text that disturbs the macro.
I copied the text to notepad and copied it back. And now it works as expected. Thanks for the macro.

I try to use this macro by selecting some text in a note and execute this macro.

Selected (highlight) four lines of text with two tab separators in each line (so, three columns intended).
Ran "text to table", seems to scan entire page not just highlighted text.
After some time, my text is deleted.
I created macro log but don't know how to interpret.
I am using latest Onetastic 3.4.0 x86 and latest version of text to table macro.
OneNote is from Office Professional Plus 2013 x86.
Machine is Win7 Pro Sp1 64-bit.

Hi Omer: There's nothing special about the text I'm trying to convert. For a simple test case, I've just used a single word on each of several lines. One additional piece of information that may be helpful: I sometimes get an error message that the "COM Surrogate has stopped working." Does that help?

Running this macro crashes OneTastic on my machine (Windows 7). After running the macro, I have to manually terminate the OneNote process. When I relaunch OneNote, the OneTastic plug is missing and has to be reinstalled.

I have OneNote 2010 and have upgraded to the latest version of OneTastic. Anyone else seeing this issue?

I however am experiencing the same behavior as Adam where the formatted table is moved to the top of the page.

This macro works fine when a text is brought from an external source where the tabs are added. in OneNote if you use the tab it will generate a table and cells.
I think it could be cool to ask what char to use for the table creation such as commas or anything the user likes.

Is this text supposed to be moved to the top of the document when it adds the table? I should probably mention that I'm using Office 2016 Preview, so I I understand it's not technically supported, but so far this is the first macro or Onetastic feature I've seen that behaves oddly.
