Printout Options

Onetastic Batch File Import can import Word documents, PowerPoint slide decks and PDF files as printouts. There are different options for how printouts are imported. To access these options, open the Printout Options tab under the Options dialog. You can access the Options dialog from the Settings menu by selecting Batch File Import Options.

Printout Resolution

You can choose the resolution of the printouts to be imported. Larger resolutions will result in a crisper and more readable printout, but will increase file size. A resolution of 150 or 200 DPI is usually sufficient for most purposes. If you have a particularly detailed document, you can increase it up to 1000 DPI.

Splitting Printouts into Multiple Pages

You may choose to import all pages of a document as a printout into a single OneNote page or split printout pages of a document into multiple OneNote pages. If you choose to split printouts, you get to choose how many pages of the document will be imported into a separate OneNote page. For instance if you select 5 pages per OneNote page, then every 5 pages of the document will be imported into a separate OneNote page.

Word Options

When importing Word documents, you can choose whether to import them as printouts or as editable rich text. You can choose to a default option to apply to all your imports or decide each time. If you choose printouts, it will preserve the document's page layout and formatting, however they won't be editable. If you choose editable rich text, the content will be editable in OneNote, but some formatting and layout may be lost during the conversion.
