I have a couple of OneNote files that are on department shared servers that many people today access. Today everyone has update ability.
With the TOC macro or any of the macro, would they need to be installed on all machines that access the shared Notebook or only on the machine that will actually be using the macro? Thanks.

I have just noticed the updated installer, and it works, however updating the TOC results in a new TOC being generated on the page rather than the original set of links being updated. Functional, but not quite how it used to be.

Just purchased and installed. Tried TOC in Current Notebook. Worked great. Question about "Resilient" link mode, which I had selected. I see this will make change to TOC if link text changed, but what if a new page is added to a section. Should it dynamically update the TOC or can the Macro "refresh" instead of having to create a new TOC page again?

Omer, further to my comment below: I just realised that none of the links in 1N work. So that goes for the TOC links also, as well as for links to a webpage. They all give that same message as described below.

PeterB: This is not an issue with OneNote or Onetastic, I believe it is an issue on Windows. Search for the error message you typed here online and you should see several others hitting it in various places in Windows and some possible solutions. If you get your links working then try Download Macros and if that is still not working, you can contact support@getonetastic.com for troubleshooting.

Yesterday I was using OneNote and this macro (Insert TOC) without any problem. Then suddenly, during the day, when I clicked on the "Back to Top" link I got a message on the screen saying
"Your organization's policies are preventing us from completing this action for you."

I closed 1N, and relaunched, but got the same message. I closed my PC, relaunched 1N, still the same message.

Today I updated from 3.7.0 to 3.7.1, but I still get the same message.

My PC is a standalone device not connected to any network. I did not change any policies. I read your "Update for Onetastic with Bug Fixes" and saw there were a number of bugs that were fixed, so I wonder if there is something wrong with 1N.

Also, when I click on "Download macros" in the 1N ribbon, there is a message saying "There was an error while getting macros from Macroland".

Please advise.

A comment on this macro, not a problem.

If using the Notebook ToC macro while password-protected pages are open, make sure you don't include sensitive material within the page TITLES, as these page titles persist even when the protected pages are not open - e.g. on opening the Notebook later.

When I try to install either TOC in Current Notebook or TOC in Current Section, I get Error: Access Denied.
It downloads fine and yes, I have Onetastic installed. It is only upon trying to launch either macro that I see the error. I get the same error even when disconnected from my company's VPN. Any ideas?

A Nice to have would be a back to the TOC-Page-Link on each page ... or even better an Link/Highlight/Bookmark you can set manually which leads automatically to the TOC and back, like creating a Link to to the TOC and also back exactly to the set link, I know you can do this manually, but its a lot of work).

scholarlyauthor: That would require some work but I think it would be doable. However it will be very slow since it now needs to read every single page in the current notebook and parse its contents. Right now it only gets the page hierarchy and doesn\'t read page contents.

yes i know, when I change \"TOC in current Page\" \" For each Paragraph in CurrentNotebook\" then i get all the \"Headers\" but the cascading output of the sections/pages is impossible for me because the paragraph object doesn\'t know its page/section and an 2D-Array would make it even easier if there would be one.
I tried to use your \"TOC in Current Notebook\" as a temlate but can\'t cascade the Header output into the Index on its right positions.

Falk, it may be possible. You can do For each Paragraph in CurrentNotebook, and then query the style to check if it is a header. It will not be trivial though to put those headers into the page list. It will also mean that it will read all pages in the notebook, which will take a long time if there are a lot of pages.
