Improved Dark Mode Support and New Display Options

December 15, 2024

A new Onetastic update improves on dark mode support and adds new options to choose how you want to manage your Onetastic features in OneNote's user interface.

Improved Dark Mode Support

Onetastic supports dark mode when OneNote itself is in a dark theme (Black or Dark Grey). With this update this support is improved by rendering the title bar, menus, scrollbars, and list headers. You can see an example below of the old and new rendering in dark mode. If you change the theme in OneNote, you will need to restart OneNote for that to take effect.

New Display Options

Onetastic has many features, and you may be using some of those more frequently than others. Onetastic Display Options dialog allows you to specify which features should be visible and ability to customize their presentation. This update includes additional controls over some of the features. You can now choose to show or hide Image Utilities which normally is displayed on a right click menu for images and printouts. Similarly, you can choose to show or hide the Inspect menu item in most context menus, which displays the Onetastic Inspector.

Finally, an option is added to choose whether the macro download dialog should show up after downloading a macro. This dialog allows you to change a downloaded macro's name, category, or icon.

New input control for Macros

In addition to the above updates, a new Up/Down control is added to Macros. This control accepts only numeric input and is accompanied by two buttons to increment and decrement the value. An example can be found below in the dialog for Insert Monthly Calendar macro. Up/Down controls can be inserted using the DialogBox_AddUpDown function.

Wish list #2:
Popups aren't possible in OneNote hey? But...

Hyperlinks can be hijacked if there are no spaces in the text, so use an invisible characer (instead use %20 in the box, or use 0020, then Alt+x in the text you're copying over). Often a ':' will be needed, so you could preface with 'Def:%20' if, say, you were wanting a popup defining a word.

Then the colour, it's not really a hyperlink, so replace the blue with 'Green, Darker 50%'. It would be nice to change the underscore to a dashed line, but hey, let's not rock the boat)..

What would be nice is to copy some text to memory then highlight some text and run a macro to produce such a 'hyperlink'.

Anybody?

Where am I +: what a great macro!
Here's my wish list:
- Remove the 'You are here:'
- Set style to 'Citation'
- Format all but the current page in Calibri Light

Can you help me tweak it? (my coding skils are really basic)

Regards,
Mark

Hi
is there a possibility to update a table of contents automatically in case a new heading is inserted on the page?
