Onetastic Pro
September 01, 2016
Starting today, Onetastic comes in two licensing models: Free and Pro. Both can be used in personal and business environments.
All Built-in Features are Free
When you install Onetastic, it comes with a set of free features/tools:- OneCalendar
- Image Crop/Rotate/Select Text
- Custom Styles
- Favorites
- Pin to Desktop
- Macro Editor to develop macros
All these features are available on the Free tier.
Macros
Downloading macros from Macroland and executing them will also be available on the Free version but it will require a Pro license after a while. This trial period depends on usage rather than time. A user that needs to execute a few macros occasionally may end up never requiring a Pro license. Onetastic will mention when your trial is expiring and when you require a Pro license.Downloading Macros
Onetastic Pro allows you to download macros available in Macroland at the time of purchase plus one year. For instance if you purchase a Pro license today, all macros currently in Macroland and all the macros that will be added and updated for the following 365 days will be available for download. After this period newly added macros will require a new Pro license. However you can continue to download older macros. Note that older macros can be updated with new features or macros can be removed from Macroland. Therefore there are no guarantees that any particular macro will be available forever. However if you have already downloaded a macro, you can keep it.Make Use of the Free Version
Onetastic can still be downloaded free of charge as a fully functional trial for customers to have an opportunity to assess its value prior to purchase. Please use the trial period to verify that it works for you and satisfies your requirements before purchasing a Pro license. You can keep using the Free version as long as it allows you to do so. If you are looking to purchase multiple licenses for multiple computers, install and try it on each computer before purchasing Pro for them.Contact Us

Please can you tell me where data is stored for this product - is it in UK EAA or US?
I look forward to hearing from you.

I currently have a PRO license on OneTastic, and I do love it. The one thing I have never been able to really figure out is where to request if we need help with a new macro. Any help is appreciated, thank you!
I will buy the pro version, especially if it helps keep Onetastic updated .
Thanks,
Dr. Herman Vega
Thanks!
But how do I insert the product key to activate the Pro in One Note. Is it done automatically?? I wouldn't think so. It is not at all clear on the website. You need to make things that simple more clear if you start charging for the program. Sorry, if I am bit gruff but I feel frustrated right now.
Thank you for your help.
Please issue refund.
lindsayleeds: Macro language currently doesn't support this. It is in the plans for a future update
slm: Onetastic will ask for the product key after using it for a while. I will also publish an update that will allow entering the product key without waiting for that.
Thanks,
Mike
Great product - having my company buying a pro license for me!
Symantac's website lists it as a low level threat, but Norton marks it as a High Level threat.
I have run a search for MacroInstaller.exe the entire C: drive and turned up nothing.
I troed uninstalled then reinstalled onetastic, following the directions in the FAQs, but the only item in the onetastic directory is the onetastic.dll.
Is there a link to download the MacroInstaller.exe?
Thank you for all your help.
The error message occurs when I try to execute a macro that I have downloaded. I am unable to add any new macros from macroland as a result.
I understand the message is from onenote, not onetastic, but since I am trying to install a onetastic macro, I thought you may have insight as to what my have changed. When I double click on the downloaded macro file, windows prompts me to select which app to open it with. I have been selecting OneNote 2016. (Currently the default behavior is to open the macro file in Notebook). Should I be opening the macro with a different app? Since Onetastic is a DLL, it is not an option for opening the macro...is my problem user error?
argeedblu: You can activate it when Onetastic asks you for a product key. I will do so soon. I will also publish an update that will allow you to enter the key from a menu option.
Please advise.
I would expect crop to remove part of an image after using it. It used worked, visually, in previous versions (e.g. 3.0.0). Them, I access my OneNote thgough the Web and noticed disformed pictures (.jpg): full image (non-copped) and squeeze vertically. Isn'T Word cropping so when you save your file the image drops the cropped portions? My new images are unusuable this way unless I'm using OneNote 2016.
I upgraded Onetastik 3.1.0 to 3.1.1, same cropping problem. Workaround: to recapture an image in OneNote (with Snipit tool), delete old image, replace it with the new, and Web page displays OK. Could a mix a resizing and cropping have created that problem. Still, it's a bug...
I have also installed onetastic and several macros from macroland without any problems.
Today I downloaded a macro from macroland an attempted to install it. I am getting a message from onenote 2016: Using this notebook requires an eligible Office 365 subscription.
I have seen comments about onenote not allowing local notebooks, so I have verified that the notebook is on my onedrive.
What changed? Onetastic? OneNote?
I am trying to transition from Evernote to OneNote.
Thank you.
Patara: Onetastic only works on Windows. There is no Mac version available.
I have downloaded apple.onetastic but unable to run it on my onenote mac.
What should I do next?
Cheers,

This is a major shift to require yearly, subscription licensing for practically the same version, just with paid access to MacroLand.
I've been using this for business for years. All my virtual machines have the free version of OneNote installed along with Onetastic. Had there been an honestly-based policy to require commercial users to pay, I would have purchased licenses.
Seems like too much grey area to require a pro license. "Maybe you will need it; maybe you won't."
Essentially, Macroland is partially populated by macros from the Omer himself, and others who have posted. Essentially, those free macros that others posted are now being charged. I doubt those authors did not intend their work to be used as leverage for paying for an online macro repository service to sell licenses of Onetastic.
Heinz57Sriracha: I suspect this error is related to something wrong on the page. Can you try other pages? You can share the page with me if you want to diagnose further (send it to support@getonetastic.com). Macro log is saved to %appdata%\Onetastic\macroLog.txt, though I don't expect anything useful to find there as the macro executed fine but failed to save changes back to OneNote.
Thank you for your support, Omar!
And if I upload a macro that I have created you would sell it via the Pro license fee?
