Featured Macro: TOC in Current Page

December 19, 2017

If you have a page with several headings, you can quickly create a Table of Contents for the page using the TOC in Current Page macro. The Table of Contents has links that will take you to corresponding headings and you can optionally add "Back to Top" links to the headers to easily scroll to the top of the page. The macro has been recently updated to refresh the TOC every time you run it. See how to use it and its various options by watching the short video below:

See also other TOC macros that work on current subpages, current section, current section group, current notebook and all notebooks:

TOC links doesn't work if a OneNote page is copied and pasted into another OneNote. Looking at the XML of the page, it looks like the OneNote notebook is hardcoded in the link.

How can we get the TOC links in a pasted page work?

It is useful, but that means we can't use the custom styles built into Onetastic, because those aren't valid headers. I use those because I loath the fact that OneNote doesn't let us customize our styles.

But then if I use the custom styles, I can't use TOC.

Either way, I'm wasting a feature that I got OneTastic because of.

Perfect!
Works with one search word too.
Thanks!
