Onetastic and OneCalendar Now Available in French

With more bug fixes for Macros

January 24, 2014

Onetastic and OneCalendar now has an update with French as a language option in addition to the previous options of English, German, Simplified Chinese, Russian and Turkish. See this earlier post on details about how language can be selected.

French translation is provided by Howard Chiam. If you want to translate Onetastic or see the current translation status, visit this page.

This update also comes with 4 bug fixes in Macros:

  1. Fixed an issue where querying page object with specific page criteria didn't work in macros: If you had a macro like: For each Paragraph in Current Section under a Page with name="page-name", it would not find any paragraphs, even thought there is such a page and paragraphs in that page. This should now work.

  2. Fixed an issue where tag query on page level images and embedded files causes macro error: If you had a macro like: For each Image directly under the Current Page that has tagName="To-do", it would give an error. This will now correctly find the images or embedded files that are directly under the page (and not in a note container/outline).

  3. Fixed an issue where macros cause   inserted on the page: This happened when you have content on a page that was copied from a website. Running a macro on such page caused some spaces to turn into  . There was a macro here that you can use to clean them after the fact, this should no longer be necessary.

  4. Fixed an issue where text queries in macros cause page modification: If you had a macro like: For each Text in Current Section that has value="some-value" increment a counter, running such a macro would ask you whether you want to allow the macro to make modifications to all the pages in this section, although macro wasn't supposed to be doing any modifications. This is now fixed and it should be a read-only operation.

Enjoy the update and let me know of any questions or suggestions.

Hi Clyde,

For add-in loading problem, please send me the logs. To get the logs hit Win + R and type %temp%, then click OK. In the folder that opens, find the following files:

You may not have all of them, so just send me which ever ones you have and I will take a look.

For the embedded files question, there is a macro named \"Attachment List in Current Notebook\" in Macroland, but it only lists the file names. Current macro system is somewhat limited for embedded files. The right click option is doable, I will add it to the list of things that I can do in future releases. Thanks for suggestions.

Wish List Item #2

Entitled: Beam Me up Scotty ...
Function: A way to right click on an embedded file (or other items) and have a right-click \"send to\" option (like the kind 99% of mobile browsers have) that would allow me to email the item(s) to someone.

Wish List Item #1

Hi Omeratay,

One of the things I\'ve always wanted to is to be able to generate a manifest of all embedded files and documents in a particular notebook, the listing would give me basic information about the item, such as:

File Name
File Size
File Date Created / Edited
File Linked or Embedded?  (Link - Provide Link Location)
The OneNote Page (pref some type of UUID) where the item is located.

With the right tools, this type of index should not be that difficult to write.
